Dottid Spotlight: Garrett Moschel
What’s it like being a “hunter” at Dottid? Read up on Sales Development Representative, Garrett Moschel, to find out.
Situated in Dottid HQ, there’s an office overlooking Dallas dubbed the CCC (Cold Calling Cave). There, you’ll find Dottid’s very own Garrett Moschel. An Ohio native who majored in Real Estate and Finance, Garrett’s a long way from home. With broker experience under his belt, Garrett’s found his place in Dallas, and he’s making moves to spearhead tech in the CRE realm.
We had the privilege of sitting down with Garrett to learn more about his role at Dottid, and what he thinks about our company and the industry, at large.
What’s your day-to-day look like at Dottid?
I’d describe my day to day as being a true “hunter.” I am hunting prospects all day to gauge their interest on why they should meet with Dottid. I’d say it is one of the most important positions in the organization because we are the first impression of Dottid to prospects. It is also one of the toughest since we are doing cold outreach.
This sounds crazy, but that’s what I enjoy the most. The challenge of giving a value proposition to prospects in about 30 seconds without ever speaking to them before.
“ I enjoy uncovering their pain points and showing how we can add value. It’s even better when they don’t realize they have one.”
What was your first impression of Dottid?
I’ll be honest, when I first heard of Dottid I had no clue there were such platforms out there. With my internship experiences in college, the majority of CRE was so tech-averse. The more I looked into this, I knew it was the future. It is simplifying the dealmaking process by having everything in one place, rather than digging through unnecessary nonsense. Looking forward to continuing to disrupt the CRE industry.
What is something you’re proud of that you’ve accomplished at Dottid?
“ I believe the more we educate the CRE industry on how tech will influence it, the more tech-savvy it will become.”
I think we’ve done a great job at educating the industry on who we are since I started. Our aggressive outreach strategies were influential in that. The more professionals and companies I reach out to as time progresses, the more they hear of us and the great things we’re doing. It wasn’t necessarily like that when I started.
How would you describe the Dottid culture?
Collaborative, family, and most importantly FUN! I don’t like to call them colleagues, we are teammates. I believe the positive environment has been impactful in the growth we’ve been seeing. The extracurricular activities we’re involved with makes it fun as well. Who knew I’d become a die-hard yogi* now?
“Every one of us, no matter the department, helps each other out in some way. Everyone strives to learn from one another.”
*Garrett’s referring to the yoga classes Dottid employees have the chance to participate in on Mondays and Wednesdays. Shoutout to HPI, who manages our office building, for making this killer amenity available to us!
What are some things you enjoy doing outside of work? Any hobbies?
I enjoy playing golf, pickle ball, and sand volleyball outside of work. Once football season comes on you’ll see me glued to the TV when my Cincinnati Bearcats and Bengals are playing. One of these days I’m going to get back into guitar lessons.
