CRE Experiences Season of Gratitude

With the close of 2021 less than two months away, we’re embracing the season of turkey trots, football games and time with family and friends. At Dottid, we have so much to be thankful for, and we strive to live out gratitude, year-round.

2021 brought momentous change for the Dottid product and team, we launched Dottid Industrial – a response to significant industry demand for warehouses and last-mile spaces. We moved into our new office space in Dallas’ Preston Center neighborhood to better accommodate our growing team. And in October, we announced the release of Dottid Retail.

“We are especially thankful for our clients, who have trusted the Dottid Team and product. Through our clients’ thoughtful feedback, we have had the privilege of consistently improving the Dottid platform. This has, in turn, helped position us as a leader in developing PropTech solutions for the CRE industry,” said Dottid CEO and Founder, Kyle Waldrep.

An industry trend that warrants gratitude is the decrease of vacant commercial space.  As many of you know, at the start of the pandemic economic observers forecasted the end of the traditional workplace. Some even went so far to say that CRE would never be the same.

For us and the clients we serve, the initial pandemic lockdown became a catalyst for growth – it unlocked new opportunities within the industry through innovations like PropTech. During the pandemic, many large companies with a newly-remote workforce offset their balance sheets through subleasing their unused office space. PropTech helped facilitate these transactions, allowing leasing teams to make more efficient, data-driven decisions and fill more vacancies.

The early months of the pandemic gave companies the opportunity to pause and reflect on in-person office environments – the concept as a whole, and how they can facilitate creativity, collaboration, and overall workflow. The pandemic provided companies the critical distance they needed to evaluate if their pre-pandemic workplace could better meet the needs of their workforce going forward.

As a result, many organizations have concluded that the in-person office experience will remain an important piece of their culture. In addition, they’ve found that maintaining a space that can accommodate the collaborative needs for hybrid and remote workers can give a competitive edge in recruiting and retaining the best talent.

It comes as no surprise, then, that as demand grows, more and more vacant spaces will come off the market. As the occupancy rate climbs, so does revenue for CRE organizations – and, CRE organizations can leverage this revenue as a means to reinvest in the industry and pave the way for the future of commercial real estate. PropTech continues to exist – and evolve – as an essential resource for organizations that want to maximize profits and adapt to changes.

The COVID-19 pandemic created many unforeseen challenges. However, like you, we at Dottid are grateful for the opportunity to grow to better serve our clients. Right now, as every organization around the world is grappling with supply chain snarls and material shortages, we look at this newer “new normal” as a major catalyst for innovation and solutions-oriented work.

With shipping problems becoming more widespread, PropTech helps fuel and power the CRE industry, which stands poised to meet these new challenges head-on. We’re thankful for our industry partners, and we’re ready to roll up our sleeves and get to work.

But first, pass us the gravy...
